There has never been a better time to join our Trust than now! We run three busy hospital sites at Peterborough, Huntingdon and Stamford and provide outpatient services in two community hospitals in Ely and Doddington. Our 6,000 staff serve a growing population of 750,000 across North Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

Join our enthusiastic and dynamic team of Respiratory Consultants! We work alongside an
award-winning Respiratory Investigations Department and Respiratory Specialist Nurses
providing great care to our patients across 2 acute hospital sites.

These are 3 replacement posts to join 4 Consultants in Respiratory Medicine at North
West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, the post has been approved by the Royal College.
We are looking for a team player with a flexible approach to support and complement the
existing Respiratory Service. Sub-speciality options are available and can be tailored to
the candidate. The appointment is for a total of 10 PAs per week.

NWAFT is a large organisation spread across 5 sites with inpatient beds in 3 of the sites.
The successful candidate will be based at either Peterborough City Hospital or
Hingchingbrooke Hospital (based in Huntingdon), however with our hospital merger in April
2017 this opens up the possibility for cross-site working within Respiratory Medicine.
Peterborough and Huntingdon are growing with new housing being built and with a diverse
population our hospital sites are expanding accordingly. Peterborough and Huntingdon
stations have excellent links to both London and Birmingham and are a short distance
from the hospitals.

You will be expected to take an active role within the departments aiming to improve the
care of patients, and education of both medical and nursing staff. In the chosen sub
speciality they will be expected to develop the services and take on a leadership role. The
departments are keen to recruit staff who have skills in tuberculosis, sleep medicine, noninvasive ventilation, endobronchial ultrasound, medical thoracoscopy, pleural procedures, pulmonary physiology, lung cancer and asthma. You will be required to undertake general/speciality Respiratory Medicine out-patient clinics and in-patient ward work.
The post-holder will contribute to the general medical on-call rota at NWAFT. Details for each site are in the attached document.
The Respiratory service has inpatient beds in a dedicated dedicated wards: 35 beds at
Peterborough City Hospital and 30 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The departments cover all
aspects of Respiratory Medicine. We also provide shared care with the regional centres for
Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Hypertension and Interstitial Lung Disease. We refer both to
Glenfield Hospital and Royal Papworth for Cardiothoracic services.

We provide both inpatient and outpatient services for Respiratory Medicine on both sites.
We have clinics running most days. We rotate providing ward cover, cover for referrals and
all carry our own clinic workload. We have rotating STR trainees and Junior Medical staff.

experience and training. They must be fully registered with a license to practice with the
General Medical Council with specialist registration in General Internal Medicine &
Respiratory Medicine or be within 6 months of CCT for these specialties. Specialists in
