We run three busy hospital sites at Peterborough, Huntingdon and Stamford and provide outpatient services in two community hospitals in Ely and Doddington. Our 6,000 staff serve a growing population of 750,000 across North Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

Do you want to be part of a growing modern team during an exciting time?
Are you a registered children's nurse? If so, we now have a paediatric band 5 vacancy in our Emergency Department. We are undergoing some major changes such as relocating the Urgent Treatment Centre into the Emergency Centre footprint. This unit will run alongside our existing ED and as a band 5 with us you will be expected to rotate through this area and will gain minor injury experience.
Part time hours will be considered.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has risen for a friendly, motivated and enthusiastic Children’s Nurse to join our Paediatric Nursing Team within a fast-paced Children and Young People's Emergency Department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will need to be a Registered Nurse (Child)/RSCN and ideally you should have a minimum of 6 months post registration experience.
You will embrace new ideas and innovative ways of working whilst providing high quality care. You will have opportunities to care for children from initial assessment through to minors, majors and the resuscitation area.
We have an excellent competency and development programme and you will be supported and guided by our Paediatric Sister and Clinical Educators. You will have the opportunity to learn and expand on existing skills including, basic and advanced plastering, wound care, venepuncture and cannulation and the care of the critically ill child or young person.
